Kid O Kid Grand Front Osaka

Image
We had been to Kid O Kid in Kobe (you can see my previous post here with all the info) once before, so knew what it was all about. This time we went to the Kid O Kid inside the fabulous new Grand Front Osaka building. It is on the 3rd floor.

This time Aiden was a bit older and really enjoyed it. We only stayed 30 minutes, but it was perfect to burn off some energy, and tire Aiden out for his afternoon nap!

Here are some pics of our time there... and some pics of the whole place so you can get a feel of what other things you can do there.

A small rest area with drink vending machines. You cannot bring your own drinks or snacks in.

This great climbing wall is only for bigger kids (aged 6 and up),

This area is for littlies (under 18months I think),

Family fun

Image
Aiden and I joined some of Yoshi`s family members for a sunny afternoon out with fun in the paddling pool, horse riding and a BBQ.

I am so happy Aiden has so many cousins and extended family close by!

Fun afternoon with Aiden

Aiden and I had a fun couple of hours last week while Yoshi was watching a movie. Check out the cute little kids sofa in the baby room at Ario Yao!

Happy Japan-niversary to me!!

Image
This week marks my 10 year anniversary here in Japan! I cannot believe it has been this long! There are positives and negatives about life here (as in any country), but I love so many things about the culture, history, people, and of course the food!!

When I arrived here 10 years ago, I really feel like I was such a different person, and I have learned SO much about myself, and about life in another country. It really has been an incredible experience.

A pic of Yoshi and I all dressed up in traditional Japanese clothing (kimonos) from our pre-wedding photo shoot in 2010...

With Aiden at nursery school today, I treated myself to a gel-nail manicure at Speed Nail in Shinsaibashi, and mini pancakes for lunch in Namba...

Here is to many more years in Japan, and many more blog posts from fran-japani!

This week

This week was wet, wild and humid in Osaka, but the sun came out yesterday, just in time for me to go to Yoshi`s shop and visit my new car!!

The 2005 Jeep Wrangler is the newest addition to the fran-japani family! So exciting! After the paperwork and number-plate update is finished later next week, I`ll get some more pics I hope... and a proper chance to drive my new baby!

This morning Aiden and I headed out to our closest local park (a 2min walk from our house) and spent about 3/4 of an hour roasting in the sun. We gave up and came home sweaty and red! But I did manage to get some nice pics while we were there...

mummy`s park attire!

And some other cute pics from this week...

Hope you all have a happy sunshiney weekend :)

It had to happen...

Image
...`mama mama, ball, ball` followed by my 2 year old pointing down his throat.

Heart attack ensues.

I started shaking and asked him if he had really swallowed it, and if he had only swallowed one. Of course he didn`t answer, he can`t even make 3 word sentences yet.

I frantically searched the room for the small, red, marble... in vain.

The only reason I let him play with it was that he had never ever tried to put it in his mouth. He had rolled it down the cars ramp, hid it in his pockets, and washed it in the bath... but never put in his mouth.

I did what all mothers (probably?) do in this situation... I googled.

There were stories of all kinds. Marbles, fruit stones, coins and batteries. And the consensus seemed to be that if the object was less than 18mm across, and had a smooth surface, then it should just pass through the body naturally.

**If the object has a rough surface, jagged edges, or is magnetic, you should take the child to the hospital immediately, also, if the child is showing …

Fathers` Day 2013

Image
So after posting (here) about the great free resources to make a cute Fathers` Day handprint poster, Aiden and I headed off to the 100yen shop to buy paint and sponges, and I printed out the A4 page.

I also managed to find an A4 photo frame at the 100yen shop, so had everything I needed!! Easy peasy.
Here is the finished result... I think Yoshi loved it :)
I think we did it at the right time too, Aiden`s hands are growing bigger by the minute!!
I also made lasagna (one his favorites) for dinner, and cupcakes for dessert. Have to share the super simple recipe I found, and say they were delicious!

Photo update

Image
Thought it was just about time for a photo update of Aiden. Life with a two-year-old is incredibly similar to a roller-coaster ride with insane ups and downs, excitement and frustration, heart-exploding love, stress, happiness and sadness. I want to write about it all but just don`t know where to start. I am exhausted, and doubt myself and my mothering abilities daily.

Anyway, for now, I will leave you with some pics of my growing boy :)

Hope you are all having a great week ♡
